Elizabeth Sills

Elizabeth

The way to my heart:

French vanilla ice cream w/ whipped cream, hot fudge, and extra nuts!

Second favorite book to read to the kids:

(Nana Star books are the favorite favorite, of course)

Goodnight Moon and any Dr. Seuss

Best movie ever:

It's a Wonderful Life

Don't bother sending flowers unless you're sending:

Wildflowers!

If I'm lucky enough to have an hour to myself:

You can find me snuggling peacefully with ALL my children.

I dreamed I'd be a rock star when I grew up.

The most wonderful thing about my job is:

Flexibility. I have four kids, after all.

Morning person or night owl?

Morning. Everyday is a fresh start with endless possibilities.

Elizabeth's personal motto:

"Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life." —Omar Khayyam

What cracks me up more than anything?

Witnessing others truly belly laughing. And my sister's sarcasm, of course!

Elena Patrice

Elena

The way to my heart:

Chocolate flour cake (with raspberries)!

Second favorite book to read to the kids:

(Nana Star books are the favorite favorite, of course)

First Virtues for Toddlers — great book and Eve loves it!

Best movie ever:

Wizard of Oz

Don't bother sending flowers unless you're sending:

Calla lilies!

If I'm lucky enough to have an hour to myself:

I can't wait to take a shower!

Maybe someday I'll become a chef.

The most wonderful thing about my job is:

Ah, working in my pajamas and being able to provide toys and books to people and organizations in need.

Morning person or night owl?

Morning. Everyday feels like Christmas to me because I think of what the possibilities are for the day and what exciting things can happen . . . seriously! Kind of like going to the mailbox and getting a great letter or card from someone!

Elena's words to live by:

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." —Plato

What cracks me up more than anything?

My sister and my baby — it's a toss up!

Linda

Dessert I'll split at a restaurant:

Plain, room-temperature apple pie

On movie night, I'm likely enjoying:

The Enemy Below, Long Hot Summer, or There's No Business Like Show Business.

How does my garden grow?

With plenty of daffodils and daisies.

Please don't disturb me when I'm

Doing crossword puzzles or Sudoku — I'm keeping my mind challenged.

If I weren't doing this, I'd be

A singing superstar — truly an "in my dreams" job. If only I could sing...

I have the greatest job in the whole world because

I get to be an artsy techie.

You took the words right out of my mouth:

"Press on — nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."

My sense of humor:

Bill Cosby's Himself , ROTFLMAO from beginning to end, Foghorn Leghorn, and old Honeymooners episodes.

I'd lose my mind without:

Noggin. Definitely.

If the movie is black and white, it'll be

The Awful Truth with Cary Grant and Irene Dunn.

You'll know it's my garden because

It's full of hydrangeas and black-eyed Susans.

The bedtime routine isn't complete without a rousing rendition of

Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus or How I Became a Pirate.

I love my job because

I get to play around with language and think about what makes kids happy all the time.

If I weren't doing this, I think I'd be really good at

Hand-picking the boutique lines Target carries.

Words to live by:

"Work as though everything depends upon you. Pray as though everything depends upon God." —St. Augustine (an oldie but a goodie and easier said than done.)

Sense of humor:

For most of the week, my 3 ½-year-old's original knock-knock jokes. On TV, The Office.

Best part of this gig:

Can't survive without

Coffee

I can't help smiling when I think of

My children

This says it all:

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Never fails to make me laugh:

Silly slapstick comedy
