Testimonials

I wanted to let you know that the woman who reviewed this toy just absolutely loved it. She has been reviewing toys for us for many years and she says this is the best thing she has ever reviewed and wants to buy it for all her friend's children.

My daughter loves Nana Star! She sings the song while we dance to it. I really like it too and don't mind hearing it 20 times in a row. Thank-you!

Amy

First, let me say “Bravo!” on a job well done with your Nana Star project! Your mission is very close to ours, in that we also strive to help disadvantaged children flourish by reading and using educational skills.

I love your doll and book!

After watching the video and thinking about it, [your sign language interpretation of Nana Star] just seems like too wonderful an opportunity to pass up! Do you know of any groups or schools that we could contact to invite? Two out of four of our regular Family Nights would sort of "leave out" any hearing impaired children (the children's singer and puppet show). What a tremendous thing to know that you're being included! Thank you for thinking outside the box! I cannot wait to meet you.

All of the books and dolls arrived, and yes VERY HAPPY PARENTS!!!!
The children will not be happy children until Christmas morning. I think we have even run out of all the dolls and most of the books. Santa's Workshop would not be as big of a success if it had not been for you and yours!!!! We cannot even begin to tell you how grateful we are. Thank you.

Many Thoughts and Blessings Heading Your Way,
XOXO

I loved reading about your story—I also see the value of helping others and have been instrumental in helping to set up schools in Liberia and Guatemala, as well as helping locally. If you are looking for other products to donate and see a fit with our product line, give me a call and let's see what we can do.

Hopeful Writer

It’s funny how life is. I was just looking for you to say hello and LOL! here you are. Things have progressed as have I. I got a first magazine article. A glossy one with whole page. NO ads just text and a photo . . . I still love that I am around with you. Keep it up and I hope your page is growing with new and interesting things.

Simply put, this is a children's book with everything a reader could want. A wonderful story that all can relate to, distinctively beautiful illustrations and many virtuous lessons for all. …When the little girl becomes Nana Star, she shows the empathy and compassion we hope for from ourselves and our children. Using words like “big job” and “counted on,” encouragement and integrity shine through.

The book is very good.

Little Twinkle Kirsten

The book itself is one that you may want to display and protect from becoming worn and soiled, but because of the story and illustrations I don't think your children will let you. …Children never want the story to end.

Nana Star opens a rich imaginary world for young readers while celebrating the virtue of a generous heart… Authors Patrice and Sills have breathed new life into their grandmother's paperdoll characters who sat in a shoebox on a closet shelf for many years. The book is illustrated…in cheerful, vintage-style watercolor and ink…Nana Star is a simple story of kindness and love that children will find uplifting and reassuring.

Nana Star is a charming story about doing a good deed because it is the right thing to do. …A delightful and upbeat picture book especially for young girls.

Midwest Book Review

This story teaches helping other because it’s the right thing to do, not because you will receive a reward. …It’s refreshing to find a book of this caliber with a story about helping others. The story behind the story impressed me. …Nana Star is a beautiful picture book that you and your children will cherish for years to come. I intend to share this one with my granddaughter. It is with honor that I highly recommend this book to grandparents and parents.

Nana Star is a charming, illustrated hardcover book that comes with a special surprise—a CD containing an enchanting audio version of the story and the memorable sing-along Nana Star Song that is sure to become one of your child’s favorites. My daughters loved the book and CD combination. They listened to it over and over again!

You and your child will simply love Nana Star. Be on the lookout for the mistake in each Nana Star story, offering children (and adults) a poignant lesson. The darling rag doll is a huggable companion that brings Nana Star to life. She is certain to become a treasured friend. …[T]ruly memorable.

Charming… Sure to become one of your child's favorites. This book is the first in a delightful new series of books for children ages 3 and up. Nana Star is magical and inviting.
